Stanford Open Golf Classic on Saturday, June 7th, will be a 7:45 am
shotgun.
Hole
assignments will be available at check-in beginning at 7 am. Range opens at 6:45 am.
Celebrate
Stanford’s diversity in the university’s first golf tournament open to all
Stanford golf members, faculty/staff, alumni and students. Men and women will compete as individuals
and 2-person teams for low gross and net honors. Individuals will also compete for their Stanford
school/department.
Time:
Saturday, June 7, 2003. Shotgun tee times will be either 7:45 am or 1:30
pm. Entry deadline is Wed, May 28th. Times and tees will be posted Monday, June 2nd
Eligibility: All current Stanford golf
members, current & retired faculty/staff, Stanford alumni and current
Stanford students. Entrants may invite
1 partner, male or female, who also meets these Stanford affiliation
eligibility requirements.
Entry Fee: Member $50 (including juniors),
faculty/staff (non-member) $90, alumni $110, student $50. Lunch included. Carts not included.
Individual entries will be paired by the committee to form 2-person
teams.
Format: Low gross and net for individuals plus
2-person best ball (at 90% of handicaps for teams with handicap spreads of 8 or
less, 80% for teams with spreads more than 8).
There will be flights for participants without USGA handicaps. Play from black (men)/blue (women) tees,
except men can use white tees with handicap reduced by 2 and not compete for
low gross.
Prizes:
Individual low gross and net winners (men and women), and the winning Stanford
school will be recognized on a new clubhouse plaque. Team prizes for about 1/3 of the field will be gift certificates
to the Stanford golf shop.
Lunch: A full lunch and beverages are included for
all participants.
