This par-4 looks harmless enough on the scorecard, at only 365 yards from the tips, but do not be fooled. There is not an easy shot to be played on #9. The tee shot has OB left and a water hazard all down the right side. The hole doglegs to the right, and can be shortened considerably with a play over the trees. It's a high-risk play, however. The distance required gets considerably greater the further right you aim.

The fairway slopes dramatically from left to right, so most tee shots that find the fairway, even some that land in the left rough, will roll towards the right side. The 2nd shot will most likely be on a sidehill lie, and choose plenty of club. It's a one-or two-club uphill to the green.

Beware of the hidden bunker left of the green, but there's no hiding the monster hazard to the right of it. Should you find yourself within the clutches of that huge bunker, good luck in trying to play out of it. It's all uphill and the sand is heavy. Just getting it on the green will be an accomplishment. The green is in the sun most of the day, so it's dry and it's fast. Avoiding a three-putt will be a challenge. A par here feels like a birdie.
